Happy food coma day!

We had a lovely day with family yesterday and I hope your day was wonderful too. Instead of sharing a bunch of food photos, which I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of by now, I will share something rare… a family photo with all of us in it!

Here are some other random things of lately.

My newest Jamberry manicure is one of my favorites. I shared a photo of them on Facebook, but here it is again for those that aren’t on FB. It is Mint Green & Gold Horizontal Stripes.

Brett also took the kids to his moms house on Monday so I could “Do whatever I wanted for a few hours with no kids” - what a nice guy, huh?

What to do, what to do…

I shopped, of course! My life has been void of leisurely, enjoyable shopping trips for a while…good for the wallet, bad for my sanity. So I went to TJMaxx and Target. At Target, I used a coupon and my Jamberry card to gift myself a delicious Caramel Brûlée Frappucino…so yummy - thank you Target and Jamberry for paying for my caffeine treat!

I bought something completely out of my comfort zone at TJMaxx, stay tuned for it’s own separate post, because I’m that excited about it

Brett made these healthy, yummy egg muffins for us to pop in the microwave each morning. Each one has about 1 egg, a half a sausage patty, and some parmesan and pepper sprinkled on top. So convenient.

We’ve had a lot go on in Tallahassee recently. Last week alone, there was a shooting at FSU and then a Sheriff was ambushed and killed at a house fire that someone did on purpose to lure firefighters there to kill them. My mother-in-law was involved (she is a firefighter/paramedic) and we are all so thankful she is ok, and also in awe of how brave and calm she is. It definitely made us a little more thankful on Thanksgiving.

But, we can not end a post on a semi-sad note…so here is a Thanksgiving video featuring Trent. You need to watch it - I couldn’t stop laughing!

If I could, I would have candles lit in every room at all times. I love the ambience they provide and how they make the house smell so good. Ya know, gotta cover up what happens when you have two kids, a dog and a husband (love you guys!).

Since each candle scent fits the same theme, you can also light more than one to create a combination of scents.

As much as I love Spring and Summer, the scents of Fall are definitely one my favorite things and these candles bring those scents anywhere I put them. The subtle jar design makes them a great addition to any room and decor.

On Monday, we made our annual trip to the North Florida Fair! Yippee!

This year, we had some extra people come along, which made it even more enjoyable. In years past, we mostly went in the evening/night, but last year, Trent fell asleep within an hour of being there. To avoid that, we went a little earlier in the day and it was great.

We started out with some eats…a slice of pizza each and some corn on the cob (and a random french fry from friends).

Someone was being a shy baby most of the night.

We headed towards the buildings with various animals inside.

The first few buildings are just to pet and there was a brand new baby goat in one of the stalls that was just so darn cute.

The last building contained the animals that you are allowed to feed and you can buy a little container of sliced carrots for $1.

Let me tell you…best $1 we ever spent. We showed Trent how to feed the carrot to the goats…one time…and he was non-stop from there.

 

Feed the goat, hand up for another carrot, feed the goat, hand up for another carrot.

Be prepared to see this photo on plenty of Wednesdays from now on!

While letting the kids watch the magic show, we loaded up on some sweet tea and deep fried cheese curds…not to be confused with mozzarella sticks. The name was far from appetizing, but they were tasty!

Trent had a few, but he far more enjoyed dipping them in the ranch and feeding them to me.

The other kids got wristbands that let them go on unlimited rides throughout the night, so we stopped at almost every one so they could ride.

Lily would be brave for a few minutes and then decide she’d rather not risk her life…

…leaving Aiden all alone. I don’t think he minded too much.

Soon enough, Trent.

Trent started to get antsy and I had been wanting to take him on at least one ride, so we headed back towards the kiddie ride area to check out the offerings.

No, not that one, Trent.

There was a truck ride that went around in a circle that looked like he would enjoy it. After buying $6 in tickets, we got in line. As soon as he sat down, he was playing with the steering wheel and pressing buttons like crazy.

Just look at that concentration.

As soon as the ride stopped, I swear he knew it was over because he started screaming. All the parents around me were doing their “Awws” and I felt so bad. I would have rode it all night seeing how happy it made him. But we moved on to some fried dessert…funnel cake.

This was Trent’s first funnel cake and he was definitely a fan.

What a fun day!

He was definitely quick to pass out that night - so I consider this Fair adventure a success! I look forward to next year where I can pretty much guarantee we will be getting unlimited-ride wristbands and I’ll be partaking in many kiddie rides. A small price to pay in my opinion.

On Sunday, we visited a nearby “farm” with some family members. They had a corn maze, tractor “train” rides, a corn pit and a petting zoo area with goats, sheep, bunnies and mini Zebu cattle. Trent was acting really shy at first, but got brave and happy when he saw the baby goats!

It was a nice little Fall outing, followed by delicious eats at the Texas Roadhouse that just opened a few months ago. Yum!

Last week, I shared a Facebook post from Canvas on Demand. They had grabbed today’s photo from Brett’s Pinterest page and asked people what they thought of it. It garnered over 2,454 likes, 400 shares and 75 comments. Crazytown.

So I guess that means people like it. Only 2-3 people commented that dressing people up like food is weird. If they think this is weird, then I’m guessing they weren’t fans of Lady Gaga in a meat dress.

So since it’s October, I figured I would share that photo as part of Photo Friday.

There is no shortage of baby in a pumpkin photos on Pinterest, so we took them as inspiration and tried to recreate it. Honestly, I was certain Trent was going to flip out. Who wouldn’t after being placed in a cold, slimy pumpkin? We even invited a friend over to torture her baby share in our joy.

To our surprise, they both were champs. Pros even. The pumpkin we bought was a little too big (or Trent was too small?), but we sat him inside and he immediately started trying to eat the edges. Yup, that would be our kid.

Here are some tips if you are planning on taking this photo:

-Leave their diaper on, so their bare booty isn’t directly touching the pumpkin.

-Use a blanket on the bottom to prop them up if needed.

-Scoop out as much insides as possible, so there aren’t any seeds or slimy strings left to freak them out.

-Don’t push it. Some babies will not like it. If that’s the case, take a few photos to capture the hilariousness and then call it a day.
