Ever since before Trent was born, every time I would shop for his clothes, I would debate on what look I wanted him to have….should he wear cute things with puppies? The cool things with dinosaurs and skulls? Or forgo all of those in favor of stylish items with no characters whatsoever and hope that he lands in Baby Vogue?

Well…hopefully the poor kid won’t have an identity crisis as he gets older, because I have gone with all of them. Clothes are meant to be fun…kids only wear them for a short time before they grow out of them anyway, so why not try different things? Besides, it’s the cutest thing when he likes what is on his shirt. He has a few shirts that have a flap he can lift up to see a character underneath and he thinks those are so much fun. And now he has a shirt that has chicks all over it…because he’s a little ladies’ man and he’s got chicks all over him. Get it? Hehe

We say “Where are the birdies?” and he looks down and points at his shirt and then keeps looking down while walking and we have to watch him so he doesn’t run into anything.

What a perfect shirt for a boy, don’t you think? I love it.

Of course, he has no idea what it says…he just knows there’s fun birds all over it, but us adults get a good chuckle.

As a working mom, I often struggle to come up with ideas of fun learning activities for Trent. Seeing as Brett is such a picky eater, it’s no surprise that Trent is too…combine that with being a picky toddler and I often feel like Trent doesn’t eat as well as he should. He loves fruits, like peaches, strawberries and bananas, but we also try to sneak in ways to get him more nutrition. One of those ways, especially when we are traveling, in Disney or out and about in town, is to give him those little pouches of fruit from the grocery store. He really likes the applesauce in the pouches, but we also try to get some combo varieties to switch it up and see what he likes. And as he grows older, he eats them so fast and will sometimes eat two at a time!

To stop going through so many pouches that get thrown away, we love the idea of reusable pouches, especially because they hold more food and we can get creative with recipes for them. All in our quest to find more things for Trent to eat and enjoy.

This is really easy…just combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Open up the pouches and pour the smoothie in each one, then close them up.

You can put them in the fridge or in the freezer for later…but not before letting your little one enjoy some first!

I love how we can now give him these pouches without worrying he’ll squeeze the contents out everywhere. He can run around and still enjoy a delicious, nutritious snack.

And yes, after filling all the pouches, I enjoyed what was leftover. Not just for kids!

Trent has been drinking from a straw cup for many months now. He took to it quite easily, actually. Now, every morning, he follows us into the kitchen and waits for us to fill his cup with milk and shake the Ovaltine into it so he can shake his arms up and down too. These cups can be turned completely upside down and thrown all around and they won’t spill. This is my favorite cup for Trent when we’re traveling, especially to Disney. I can put it in the outside pouch of my backpack and easily grab it to fill up and hand to Trent. I can trust that it won’t spill, even when I’m moving my bag from ride to ride, to seat, to stroller, etc.

We have noticed that if you have something really cold inside, the difference in temperature may cause some of the liquid to expand out of the straw. We also wish it were a little easier to clean in the valve and straw area, but I think that is an issue you will find with most “no-spill” baby/child cups.

The Clik-It No Spill Flex Straw Cup is meant for children aged 12+ months, but honestly, Trent started using it before then, so just use your judgment to determine what your child is ready for. This is designed to be a transitional cup before reaching sippy cups and then to regular cups.

Ever since we set up Trent’s nursery/playroom before he was born, we haven’t really added anything to it as far as decorations go. In a way, that’s a good thing, as it means we must have set it up pretty well to not necessarily NEED anything new. But fortunately, the way we set up his room was so that it would be easy to add anything to it down the road as long as it was colorful and/or Disney.

This week, we added something colorful to it…a name print from Gapingvoid Art!

This was the easiest project ever…I just used a glue stick and glued the print onto the paper that came with the frame (one side was grey, the other was white) since the print was a tad smaller than the frame and I needed extra material around the edges..

Look at us with THREE photo projects this week! Maybe in a few years, we’ll have a fully decorated house (totally not holding my breath!).

This fun print would be a great gift or addition to a nursery or play room. Trent liked the characters on his print and kept pointing to them and smiling!
