Dear Trent,
Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy! You are growing up so fast, like a flash in front of my eyes, and I am already sad that there are little moments of the past year that have escaped my memory. For this reason, I am glad we try to take as many photos of you as possible, so that those moments, big or small, can come rushing back and be restored in my mind when I want them to.
Everyone says to cherish the time, as it goes by so fast…and while I agree with both points and often take a second to take in the moments I particularly love, doing so does not make the moment last forever…nor would I want it to. I look forward to you growing up and being a part of your life and all that it will be.
You are also learning everything so fast and I love watching you discover new things. I love that look you get on your face when you realize “Hey, I didn’t know I could do that!”
Just recently, you started dancing to the music that plays on your Radio Flyer car, and it is the cutest thing ever. You reach for the button, press it and immediately look towards us and start bouncing at the same time. Watch out So You Think You Can Dance!
We set up an email address for you when you were born and I often wish I wrote to you more throughout the year, but sometimes it’s difficult for me to write anything different than what I already write in the blog. I hope the blog becomes a place for you to read a chronological story of your life, with pictures and small tidbits of memories that may not have been passed along if I were to try to remember them 18 years down the road.
Here are some fun facts about you at 1 year old:
Teeth: You have 7 teeth. Your first tooth came in at around 5 months old and you quickly accumulated 7, but none recently.
Weight: We’ll find out at your appointment next week!
Height: We’ll find out at your appointment next week! Then we’ll add it to your growth chart ruler!
Favorite foods: Strawberries, banana, Boar’s Head Maple Chicken, fish sticks, sweet potato fries
Favorite everything else: When Daddy makes silly faces, taking Mommy’s hair clip, being in or playing with water, chasing the animals (especially the cat), riding in your Radio Flyer Car, running in your walker, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom, your Stuffy stuffed animal
Dislikes: Getting dressed and pretty much anything else that requires you to stay still…luckily for you there will be no more monthly photo shoots!

Words spoken: Mama, Mom, Dada, Me, Whoa
We look forward to celebrating you at your party this weekend! But today, you got to eat and smash some cake!!

{We used this Giant cupcake mold}

We love you!
